Travel Insurance

Magic Travel Services GmbH highly recommends that all clients purchase travel insurance for the coverage they need as they travel.

Not Included

Ground Package prices DO NOT include: International airfare, cost of passport or visas, immunizations, excess baggage charges, baggage handling, phone calls, meals not specified in the itinerary, airport and/or departure taxes, local airport taxes, local city taxes, any items of a personal nature, any hotel extras, health and/or accident or travel insurance.

Gratuities

Gratuities are NOT included in the quoted price. Gratuities are appreciated by tour guides, drivers, waiters, baggage handlers and hotel staff but are at the discretion of the client.

Visas and Immunizations

Visa and immunization requirements vary from country to country. Current information should be obtained from your health department and/or consulate prior to departure.

Important Note

Travel arrangements are intended for persons of good or reasonably good health. Acceptance of a proposed travel itinerary along with payment made for a confirmed travel itinerary certifies that client does not have any health problems or limitations that would limit them from fully participating in the travel arrangements requested, booked and confirmed.

Reservation and Payment Procedure

Payment is due at time of booking unless otherwise indicated. Payment made constitutes acknowledgment and agreement by client and/or travel agent with the Terms and Conditions stated here.

Once payment is received, vouchers and other pertinent documents will be issued and sent via email. Vouchers are to be presented to service providers at time of service.

An invoice can be issued upon request by client.

Emergency Procedure

In case of an emergency (if customer is at destination and the reservation is lost, hotel is sold out, a flight is missed or a tour guide doesn't show, etc.) client should contact the agent that assisted him with planning and booking the itinerary. If agent is not available, client should contact Magic Travel Services GmbH at +41 61 588 0158 or send an e-mail to adminmagictravelservicesch

If client does not receive documents in time Magic Travel Services GmbH will provide a set of emergency vouchers through our agents in the respective country of travel.

Vouchers include emergency contacts of Magic Travel Services GmbH or its affiliates (personal phone number of travel consultant and e-mail) and of each service provider where client can call in an emergency situation.

For lost reservations and overbooked hotels Magic Travel Services GmbH will provide a comparable replacement of equal or higher quality.

Magic Travel Services GmbH is not responsible if client is denied boarding or misses their flights, but will do everything possible to accommodate client in such event.

Change Policy

Changes to the original booking may result in extra expenses. All requests for changes MUST BE submitted in writing to Magic Travel Services GmbH or its affiliated agents.

* There will be a minimum of CHF 50 surcharge PER PERSON for any changes made 60 days or more prior to departure plus a possible rate difference to previous arrangements plus any itinerary components which have to be repurchased due to the change.

* There will be a minimum of CHF 75 surcharge PER PERSON for any changes made 30-59 days prior to departure plus a possible rate difference to previous arrangements plus any itinerary components which have to be repurchased due to the change.

* There will be a minimum of CHF 100 surcharge PER PERSON for any changes made 29 days or less prior to departure plus a possible rate difference to previous arrangements plus any itinerary components which have to be repurchased due to the change.

Postponements and preponements which require a complete re-book count as cancellations and not as a change (due to the time spent for consulting, planning and booking your itinerary). In this case our General Cancellation Policy is applied.

Mountain weather in Switzerland is unpredictable and can change quickly. Be aware that we cannot make short-term itinerary changes based on the weather forecast and our change policy still applies to any modifications (pending availability) to your booked services.

General Cancellation Policy
(for Groups of 10 people and more see separate policy below)

ALL cancellations MUST BE submitted in writing by client to Magic Travel Services GmbH.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR NO SHOWS OR CANCELLATIONS MADE LESS THAN TWENTY-FIVE (25) DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE OR START DATE OF TOUR PACKAGE.

A 50% refund based on the total tour price will be issued for cancellations made 25 to 45 days prior to travel date.

A refund based on the total tour price minus a service fee of 10% (minimum CHF 100 PER PERSON) of the tour package minus services already purchased will be issued for cancellations made more than 45 days prior to travel date.

Cancellation terms in review:

  • More than 45 days before tour departure = Refund of the total tour price minus service fee of 10% minus services already purchased
  • 25 - 45 days before tour departure = 50% refund of the total tour price
  • 0 - 25 days before tour departure = NO REFUND

There is no refund for any unused portions of the tour once the tour has started.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR AIRLINE TICKETS, INTERNATIONAL TRAIN TICKETS AND SCENIC TRAIN RESERVATIONS.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS DURING THE PEAK WEEKS OF THE SEASON INCLUDING WEDNESDAY BEFORE EASTER UNTIL EASTER MONDAY, DECEMBER 24 UNTIL JANUARY 2, MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL, LOCARNO FILM FESTIVAL, OKTOBERFEST.

The change and cancellation policies enforced by our local suppliers may supersede our policy and are applicable to any cancellation of tours with Magic Travel Services GmbH. The cancellation policies of local suppliers will be made available upon request.

SPECIAL Cancellation Policy for Groups of 10 people and more

ALL cancellations MUST BE submitted in writing by client to Magic Travel Services GmbH.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR NO SHOWS OR CANCELLATIONS MADE LESS THAN 45 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE OR START DATE OF TOUR PACKAGE.

A 50% refund based on the total tour price will be issued for cancellations made 45 to 90 days prior to travel date.

A refund based on the total tour price minus a service fee of 10% (minimum CHF 100 PER PERSON) of the tour package minus services already purchased will be issued for cancellations made more than 90 days prior to travel date.

  • More than 90 days before tour departure = Refund of the total tour price minus service fee of 10% minus services already purchased
  • 45 - 90 days before tour departure = 50% refund of the total tour price
  • 0 - 45 days before tour departure = NO REFUND

Itinerary Variations

We make every effort to operate each program according to the description presented in any offer or published in any printed or electronic form. However, situations out of our control occasionally arise that require changes. In such cases we reserve the right to vary itineraries and/or inclusions or to substitute hotels of similar standards. We only make changes that improve the program or are in the best interest of the tour participant's comfort, safety, health and enjoyment.

Payment by Bank Wire

By sending a wire transfer, the client or the intermediary accepts these terms and conditions, including our change and cancellation policy.

Release of Liability

Magic Travel Services GmbH and its subsidiaries shall not be liable for any injuries or any damage to any client or be subject to any claim, demand, injury, or damages, whatsoever, including without limitation, those damages from acts of passive or active negligence on the part of Magic Travel Services GmbH, its officers or agents. The client hereby expressly releases and discharges Magic Travel Services GmbH from all such claims, demands, injuries, damages, actions or causes of action. Client acknowledges that he/she has carefully read this paragraph and fully understands that this is a waiver and release of liability.

The client acknowledges that Magic Travel Services GmbH and its subsidiaries are not responsible for any injury to person or damage to property, pilferage or other loss or expense of any nature whatsoever arising directly or indirectly, from occurrences of weather, natural disasters, damage or expense arising from strikes, substitution of equipment, quarantine, government restraints, war, acts of terrorism or loss due to the actions of any person or supplier of services, programs, or accommodations offered in connection with this travel opportunity. The client acknowledges that Magic Travel Services GmbH assumes no responsibility and no liability at all for any personal injury, sickness, illness, quarantine, accident, expense, defect or any other abnormality, which may result from your participation in any activity during your trip. The client acknowledges that Magic Travel Services GmbH assumes no liability whatsoever for any accident or delay to person or property due to any act of negligence or default of any hotel, carrier, restaurant, company or persons rendering services during your trip. Further, no responsibilities are accepted by Magic Travel Services GmbH for additional expense for any damage or delay due to labor disputes, machinery and conveyance breakdown, acts or re-routing by governmental or other authorities, weather, omissions, or other causes beyond Magic Travel Services' control.

The client acknowledges that Magic Travel Services GmbH strongly recommends that all insurances offered here should be seriously considered. These might include, but are not limited to, insurances that cover: Trip Cancellation/Interruption, Travel Delay, Medical Expenses, Medical Transportation Service, Baggage Damage, Loss or Delay and Travel Accident. The client releases Magic Travel Services GmbH from all liability whatsoever for injury to a person or property arising out of the client's participation in the Trip. The client expressly waives any and all claims or causes of action of whatsoever kind in nature against Magic Travel Services GmbH which may arise out of or in relationship to injury to person or property sustained while participating in the Trip. It is further acknowledged that this Disclosure, Waiver and Release are contractual and not merely recitals. The client warrants that he/she is duly authorized and competent to execute this Disclosure, Waiver and Release by signing the credit card charge authorization form.

If a tour or tour departure is canceled, the Tour Operator shall have no responsibility beyond refund of payment received from the tour passengers, as set forth in the cancellation policy. The passenger and/or travel agent or intermediary waive any claim against the Tour Operator for any damage or loss of property, injury or death of persons due to any act of negligence of any airline, accommodation establishment, auto rental company, train company, any other provider of means of transportation (included but not limited to boats, rafts, hot air balloons, zeppelins, ferries, cable cars), or any other person(s) rendering services and/or accommodations included in the air or land portion of the tour. The Operator reserves the right to decline, accept or retain any person from a tour. If any participant is removed from a tour no refund will be given to the participant.

Transportation and/or Service Provider Responsibility Clause

Any transportation and/or service provider is responsible ONLY for their specified portion, performed by them on behalf of tour participants in accordance with the terms and conditions of their individual contracts and are subject to applicable laws, treaties and regulations governing the specified means of transportation or service. The usual contract used by transportation and/or service provider when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between provider and the tour participant(s) and in purchasing any services by providers as a part of this tour the participant acknowledges and accepts the foregoing conditions.

Privacy

We respect you and hold your personal information private. Magic Travel Services GmbH has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our company's commitment to privacy.

We do not disclose personal information to any third party other than necessary information related to travel arrangements.

Passport Validity

Switzerland requires your passport must remain valid for 90 days after your planned date of departure from Switzerland. It has to be issued within the previous ten years. We recommend having at least six months validity remaining on your passport.
